How to Get Peace and Keep Peace Through Prayer (Part 16): Pastor Daniel Whyte III Preaches Philippians 4 and Reaches Out to Atlanta's Homeless
Pastor Daniel Whyte III continued his long-running Wednesday night series on prayer at the Gospel Light House of Prayer International, preaching Part 16 of "How to Get Peace and Keep Peace Through Prayer" from Philippians 4:4-8.
"Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand," Whyte preached, teaching that moderation means avoiding extremes — staying balanced, sober-minded, and "cool, calm, and collected" every day. He reminded believers that rejoicing is a commandment, not a suggestion, and a choice rather than a feeling.
From verse 6, he taught the congregation how peace is obtained: "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
During the service, Whyte turned his attention to the homeless crisis in Atlanta, where reportedly some 144,000 people face eviction. "Atlanta is not a good place to be homeless. It is very dangerous," he said, offering practical counsel: relocate south to affordable Georgia towns such as Warner Robins, Unadilla, and Vienna; connect with a Bible-believing church for help resettling; live simply; and pray and read the Bible daily.
He closed the service leading listeners in the sinner's prayer: "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved."
