Millions Invited to Open Their Bibles Daily for Global Bible Month
As November begins, millions of people around the world are being invited to do something simple and life-changing: open the Bible every day. The invitation comes through Global Bible Month, a 30-day challenge now in its second year that calls believers — and anyone curious about Scripture — to make God's Word a daily priority throughout the month, according to CBN News.
The effort brings together an unusual coalition: Bible apps, ministries, and major retailers, including Walmart and Hobby Lobby alongside the YouVersion Bible App. Whether someone picks up a printed Bible or opens an app on a phone, the goal is the same — to place Scripture at the center of everyday life for one full month.
Hundreds of YouVersion partners have created special 30-day Bible reading plans for the campaign, giving participants a guided path through Scripture day by day. The Bible is also being put on public display in some of the world's busiest places, with celebrations planned in New York's Times Square and London's Piccadilly Circus, among other iconic locations, according to YouVersion founder Bobby Gruenewald.
The momentum behind the campaign reflects a striking surge in Bible engagement. YouVersion passed one billion app downloads last year, and daily use has climbed 13 percent to 18.5 million visitors each day. Organizers say nearly 15 million people have already joined the Global Bible Month movement.
Gruenewald believes the growth is no accident. In an age of artificial intelligence, he says, people are searching for what can be trusted and what is true — and many are turning to God's Word for answers. The app's most-searched terms this year point in the same direction: anxiety, hope, and healing rank among the top searches, a sign that people are bringing their deepest needs to Scripture.
That is an encouraging picture for the Church. In a moment when so many voices compete for attention, millions are choosing to sit down with the Bible itself — not merely to read about God, but to hear from Him. A month of daily reading can become a habit that outlasts November, shaping decisions, calming fears, and grounding families in truth.
For believers who have drifted from regular Bible reading, Global Bible Month offers a fresh start: one chapter, one plan, one day at a time. And for those who have never opened the Bible for themselves, it is an open door — an invitation to discover for themselves the Book that has guided the Church for two thousand years.
