1,000 Christian Leaders From 117 Countries Gather in Israel to Honor October 7 Victims and Stand With Survivors
JERUSALEM — More than 1,000 Christian leaders, community leaders, and influencers from 117 countries are arriving in Israel to stand with the survivors of the October 7 massacre, visit the sites where the attacks happened, and carry the testimonies of survivors back home, according to a report by Israel365 News via Charisma.
The gathering is the Friends of Zion Ambassador Summit, organized in cooperation with Israel’s Foreign Ministry. Among the participants are approximately 200 young adults between the ages of 18 and 29, chosen to witness what happened for themselves so they can speak with conviction when they return to their home countries.
During their visit, the participants will meet released hostages, bereaved families, wounded soldiers, and Holocaust survivors — people whose lives were forever changed by Hamas’s attack. Friends of Zion founder Mike Evans told Israel365 News, “We want these young leaders to see Israel for themselves, hear directly from those whose lives were changed forever on October 7, and return home with a deeper understanding of Israel and a commitment to standing with the Jewish people.”
On October 7, following a visit to Yad Vashem, the delegation will join approximately 2,000 participants at the Southern Wall of the Temple Mount for the anniversary commemoration. Released hostages will appear onstage during the gathering, which organizers say will be broadcast live on dozens of television networks.
The commemoration marks three years since Hamas terrorists killed approximately 1,200 people and dragged 251 hostages into Gaza — the deadliest single day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust.
On October 8, participants will visit the site of the Nova music festival massacre near Re’im, where hundreds of young people were murdered in the early morning hours of October 7. Released hostages Romi Gonen, Noa Argamani, and Elkana Bohbot will meet the delegation and receive the Friends of Zion “Here Am I” Award for their international advocacy on behalf of those still held or lost.
The delegation also plans to visit ancient Shiloh, where the Tabernacle of God stood and the young Samuel heard the voice of the Lord — a reminder that the story of God’s people in this land stretches back three thousand years.
“The arrival of more than 1,000 Christian leaders from 117 countries carries a powerful message: Israel does not stand alone,” said George Deek, Israel’s special envoy to the Christian world. “They are coming to bear witness, to meet the people whose lives were shattered on October 7, and to carry their stories back to communities across the world.”
